On February 4, 2023, the world stood together to fight against cancer. And we, at MGM Cancer Institute, Chennai, took it upon ourselves to spread awareness and educate our employees about the importance of cancer screening and care.

Dr M A Raja, Senior Consultant- Medical Oncology, Director of Oncology Services, Chairman Medical Advisory Board, MGM Cancer Institute, Chennai, presented an inspiring lecture on cancer awareness, highlighting the need for early detection and timely treatment. The audience was enlightened and motivated to take action against cancer.

Following the lecture, an oath ceremony was conducted, with everyone pledging to get screened for cancer. But the awareness campaign didn’t stop there. Outpatients and their attendants were presented with fortune cookies, each containing a secret message guiding them on cancer screening. The message helped them understand the importance of early detection and taking the necessary steps towards prevention.

We also took the opportunity to involve our doctors, medical, and non-medical staff in the pledge ceremony. It was heartening to see everyone coming together and taking a stand against cancer.

Let’s unite in the fight against cancer and close the care gap. It’s time to spread awareness and encourage everyone to get screened for cancer. Together, we can overcome the fear of cancer and ensure a better future for all.
