This World Cancer Day, we came together with one clear purpose: to raise awareness and encourage prevention.

On February 4th, buildings across Chennai stood in support, helping amplify the message of cancer awareness and early action.

Through this initiative, we focused on a simple but powerful message: cancer awareness begins with timely consultation and the right guidance.

For us, it was not just about marking a day. It was about starting conversations, reminding people to stay alert to their health, and encouraging regular check ups.

The event brought together voices that matter, including doctors, caregivers, and the community, all reinforcing the importance of early action.

At MGM Cancer Institute, we believe awareness is the first step towards prevention.

Because when people are informed, they are empowered to act early.

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we brought our community together for a cause that truly matters: breast cancer awareness.

On November 2, 2025, our “Walk in Pink” walkathon saw an incredible response, with over 1000 participants coming together from all walks of life for one purpose: to spread awareness, encourage early detection, and stand together.

For us, this was not just a walk. It was a step towards better awareness, timely screening, and stronger support for those affected by cancer.

Dressed in pink, every participant became a symbol of hope and strength. The event opened up important conversations and reminded us of one simple truth: early detection can save lives.

MABCON 2025, held in September, created a platform for healthcare professionals to connect, collaborate, and discuss evolving approaches in cancer care.

The conference brought together clinicians and experts for meaningful discussions, knowledge sharing, and updates in treatment practices.

For us, it was more than just a scientific meet. It was an opportunity to learn, exchange perspectives, and strengthen our approach to patient care.

Each session reflected a shared goal: improving outcomes through better understanding, timely decisions, and collective expertise.

The Department of Anaesthesiology & SICU at MGM Cancer Institute successfully conducted the second edition of the MGM Anaesthesia Symposium – MAS 2.0 – on April 19th & 20th, 2025, at the 5th Floor Auditorium, MGM Healthcare.

This 2-day scientific symposium featured two hands-on workshops focused on advanced anaesthesia techniques and perioperative care, with special emphasis on POCUS (Point of Care Ultrasound) and Hemodynamic Monitoring.

Aligned with the spirit of World Cancer Day, MGM Cancer Institute proudly celebrated its 2nd anniversary with Fearless Future—a transformative carnival dedicated to raising awareness, fostering resilience, and inspiring hope. This milestone event reaffirmed the institute’s unwavering commitment to cancer education, early detection, and community support.

The event was inaugurated by Dr. M.A. Raja, Senior Consultant and Director of Medical Oncology Services, who set an inspiring tone for the day with his words of encouragement and commitment to advancing cancer care.

With over 500 students from schools and colleges in attendance, Fearless Future provided a dynamic platform for learning, engaging discussions, and hands-on experiences designed to deepen understanding of cancer prevention and care. The initiative emphasized the importance of early detection, proactive health measures, and the role of a compassionate society in supporting those affected by cancer.

A major highlight of the event was Dr. Raja’s interactive session, where he answered students’ questions with clarity and empathy, broadening their perspective on cancer care and dispelling common misconceptions.

To make learning about cancer awareness both impactful and enjoyable, the event also featured a magic show, drawing competitions, and the Wall of Hope, where attendees shared messages of strength and encouragement.

Held in observance of World Cancer Day, Fearless Future was not just a celebration but a powerful awareness campaign, amplifying the message of cancer advocacy and early intervention. Extensive media coverage further helped spread awareness, ensuring that the conversation around cancer prevention reached a wider audience.

Through Fearless Future, MGM Cancer Institute continues to drive its mission forward—empowering communities with knowledge, fostering hope, and building a future where awareness and compassionate care lead the way.

MAS 2024  

We are delighted to share the success of the MGM Anesthesia Symposium 2024 (MAS 2024), a one-day academic conference held at the MGM Cancer Institute, Chennai. MAS 2024 brought together anaesthesia practitioners, delegates, faculty, and industry experts for a day filled with learning, collaboration, and networking. 

 

Event Highlights: 

– Renowned experts and experienced faculty delivered insightful discissions on various topics related to anaesthesia care, covering best practices, innovations, and advancements in the field. 

– Hands-On Workshops: Delegates had the opportunity to participate in hands-on workshops focusing on skill enhancement, including fibreoptic bronchoscope usage, airway management techniques, video laryngoscopes, and more. 

– Simulation Scenarios: Engaging simulation scenarios provided delegates with realistic experiences in airway management using high-fidelity simulators, enhancing their clinical skills and decision-making abilities. 

– Networking Opportunities: MAS 2024 facilitated networking and collaboration among attendees, fostering professional connections and knowledge exchange. 

  

Key Moments: 

The inauguration ceremony was graced by esteemed chief guests Mr. Harish Manian, Group CEO of MGM Healthcare, and Dr. Naheed Azhar, HOD of Anaesthesiology at Madras Medical College. A special highlight was the launch of a souvenir book by Dr. Naheed Azhar, commemorating the event.
